Part 1 relates to Englishmen and the Mexican Inquisition, 1559-1577, and contains transcripts, translations, and photocopies of documents in the Archivo General de la NacioĢn in Mexico, from the private Biblioteca Conway, and from other sources both public and private, concerning members of Sir John Hawkins' expedition to Mexico, their capture and subsequent trial. Part 2 consists of transcripts and translations of miscellaneous 16th-18th century papers relating to the Spanish in America, the Philippines, and Japan.
